Dell charger won't charge laptop
WebSep 19, 2024 · The Dell charger has a chip which identifies it as Dell, this need to make contact with the laptop to allow the charging circuit to work. This works in tandem with the AC power which has a separate circuit and functions fine, power is getting to the laptop and powering it for normal use, when attached to the charger. WebNov 18, 2024 · Plugged in, not charging. My charger stopped working the other day, so I just replaced it. The charger itself works, but it isn’t charging my laptop from any of the three usb c ports. Of course, my laptop is out of power and won’t turn on at all. I tried cleaning out the ports, but that didn’t help whatsoever.

When the center pin does not connect laptop thinks that charger is not original and decides not to charge. Try wiggling the connector and call a Dell and request a replacement.
