It is pH nuetral, contains high amounts of silica essential in strengthening cell walls and plant tissue and is much better at water retention than anything else on the market. When I switched over to higromite (Discount Hydroponics - Higromite) I dont know why I ever used hydrton in the first place.I hate hydroton now and will only use higromite. out of all the grows its easier to maintain and the plants love them.
